Design preparation of 7 710 m\u00b2 area, 2-storey A++ energy class “Esco Lifesciences” medical equipment production building with storage and office spaces in Kaunas FEZ is already completed. Its construction is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of this year and will take about a year. Products of the new medical equipment production plant will be primarily laminars and incubators providing sterile microclimate for IVF clinics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, “BE LIVE” provides services to its Clients according to EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) model, which is becoming more and more popular in the world, but is still rare in Lithuania. Its essence is that the Client entrusts all services related to design and construction of production plant to a single contractor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“EPCM model allows to maintain conceptual and technical integrity of works, to unite design and construction technologies. When responsibility is transferred to one hand, we get new opportunities, and at the same time responsibility and a new level of quality\u201d, \u2013 says D. Kvedaras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, the new building is aiming for the highest BREEAM rating. Innovations such as life cycle analysis and dynamic energy modeling are used in design and construction of production plant. In addition, ecologists are being consulted on a wide range of sustainability measures, such as not only the protection of birds from collisions with glass, but also the provision of nests and feeders. Piles of rotting wood and stones for small mammals or amphibians, as well as other measures that contribute to local biodiversity will be created in the surroundings of building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At least 20% of parking spaces for electric cars will be designed in parking lot of new production building and a place for disembarkation of centrally arrived employees will be provided. Traffic on land plot is designed so that different flows cross as little as possible. The priority of movement is given to pedestrians, prominent crossings are formed, number of pedestrian, bicycle and car traffic intersections is minimized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
