Virtual flying simulators production plant “VIRPIL Controls” was opened in Alytus
“VIRPIL Controls” – manufacturer of equipment for computer games is manufacturing airplane joysticks, control panels, bases and other hardware accessories. They are used all over the world by fans of airplane games.
According to UAB “VIRPIL” director Tomas Velička, up to 150 jobs are planned to be created in the new production plant within a few years.
“Alytus has a good industrial area, so a valuable neighbourhood and suitable employees can be found here. I myself am from Alytus, so I am happy that the municipality of Alytus and Alytus industrial park, where we are located, have met our expectations in the senses of infrastructure and constructive cooperation”, – says Tomas Velička.
The full range of production plant construction consulting services – from the very idea to the handing over of the keys – was provided by the company “Be Live”, and construction project management services were provided by the related company “Be Constructive”. According to Tomas Velička, a relatively new method of construction management in Lithuania, when all responsibility is transferred to one hands, allows the faster and cheaper construction of production plant, and the most diverse challenges, such as negotiations with contractors, need for additional engineering solutions or jumps in material prices, are the responsibility of construction management company.
Implementation of “VIRPIL Controls” production plant project was financed by “SME Bank”, a Lithuanian bank specializing in services for business, and the general contractor was “VA Statyba”, the leader in Alytus district.
The building of new production plant of A++ energy class and area of 3135 sq. m. is an example of modern industrial construction. It is distinguished by clearly separated production and offices parts, and 27 kW solar power plant is installed on its roof.
The highlight of the building is the bright volume of the entrance canopy resembling an airplane wing. Glass facades, a combination of wood and concrete in the interior, playful kitchens and collaboration spaces create a bright and creative work atmosphere.
“VIRPIL Controls”, a well-known brand for virtual flying enthusiasts since 2016, is the most popular in the United States, over 50% of production is exported here. The second largest export volume of the company is the European Union market, were about 30 per cent of production is exported, and the rest goes to the most diverse corners of the world, for example, Canada, South Korea.
The company’s divisions responsible for marketing, sales and customer service operate in the United Kingdom and the United States.
