21 NEW HOUSES FOR RETURNING BIRDS – for birthday of “BE LIVE”

“BE LIVE” team celebrated its 21st year of existence by symbolically building 21 nesting-boxes in Karoliniškės Landscape Reserve in Vilnius. Together with ornithologist Gediminas Petkus, the path taken by the team was given a meaning, integral between company’s daily work and nature, its preservation and sustainability. The initiative took place symbolically on the day of return of the national bird, Stork-day, which is important for ornithologists and all Lithuanians.

According to Darius Kvedaras, Director of “BE LIVE”, in our daily construction management activities, we must take into account not only the technical solutions, but also the development of buildings’ relationship with man, environment and nature. That is why the idea of birthday celebration has been chosen extraordinarily – making meaningful every year of life with nature, in nature, through its meaning, nest-box, life, bird.”

Most of the nest-boxes for initiative of “BE LIVE” were specially created by Trakai Employment Center of People with Disabilities according to instructions of ornithologists. Homes made of different sizes, shapes and materials are already waiting for returning tits, owls and goosander.
