Baltic FEZ starts new stage of development in Marijampole
UAB “Marijampolės laisvosios ekonominės zonos valdymo bendrovė” (Baltic FEZ) starts implementation of a new stage of infrastructure development. The projects of the roundabout, new road, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure initiated by the company have been completed and handed over to Marijampolė municipality for further implementation. They also include all the necessary communication lines – electricity, water supply, drainage, rain, gas, street lighting. Design work was performed by many years operating industrial project management and design company “BE LIVE”, which has been well-known under the name of “Baltic Engineers” until now.
“Vision development and design phase is over, and we are starting the next five years period of contracting and development of new investment projects. The newly designed roundabout in FEZ and the street connecting the plots located on the territory of about 20 ha will allow investors to offer a full range of services – from the design of a typical production environment in the plots of FEZ to the handover of the key of building. In the next 3-4 years, we hope to become the first free economic zone in Lithuania to be used for activities in 100%”, – says Simonas Petrulis, Director of Baltic FEZ.
According to him, after Marijampole municipality will finish implementation of Baltic FEZ new infrastructure construction projects in about 1,5 years, as its planned, free economic zone, which is only a few kilometers away from the center of Marijampolė, will be easily accessible not only by car, but also by ecological transport – bicycles or scooters.
Responding to the current issues and threats of climate change, Marijampolė FEZ Management Company sees an opportunity to join one of the nature conservation initiatives – bee population conservation, not only in Marijampolė FEZ territory, but also in Marijampolė region. Together with the starter Urbanbee.lt, we invite regional companies to cultivate beekeeping in the industrial territories of Marijampolė region. In order to encourage socially responsible partnerships, Marijampolė FEZ will give present to new customers – beehives.
