BE LIVE project is the winner of the VGTU Engineering Lyceum reconstruction competition
In the public procurement competition for the reconstruction of the primary education building of the VGTU Engineering Lyceum, the general designer BE LIVE was awarded first place.
The most points were awarded to the work “PAKOPA” by Office of Northern Architecture architects Joris Šykovas and Radvilė Samackaitė. We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with creative partners and contribute to the creation of a modern learning environment.
A design contract has already been signed for 1.5 years. The reconstruction of the Primary Education Department of the VGTU Engineering Lyceum is planned to be completed by the end of 2028.
“PAKOPA is a school reconstruction idea that aims to encourage students to think about the human impact on the environment and the sustainable use of the earth’s finite resources in our lives.
The architecture of the building embodies the keyword “PAKOPA”, with its façade emphasising that the learning process is gradual and continuous. In order to reach high scientific achievements, a young person has to walk a long path, where every step counts.
The building’s architecture and interior preserves and displays the old structural solutions to convey the idea that new discoveries build on the previous achievements of others.

The general designer is BE LIVE (UAB “Baltic Eengineers”).
Designers – Office of Northern Architecture: Joris Šykovas, Radvilė Samackaitė.
