Construction of “BOD GROUP” innovation center in Vilnius is started

New development stage is started in Visoriai Information Technology Park – Building Permit is issued for new Innovation, Research and Laboratory Centre being developed by “BOD GROUP” and construction works are launched. Investments for development of this laboratory complex will reach approximately 22, 4 million Eur. The innovative building will supply itself with heat and cool, and a solar power plant installed on the facade and roof of the building will generate all the electricity necessary for maintenance of building.

“BOD GROUP” in the new research and innovation centre, will establish a laboratory complex, including a new generation energy storage development centre, where innovative batteries and accumulators adapted to the needs of household consumers, transport and industry will be developed.

“This centre is an important and organic step in the development of our group of companies.

We continue on the path of vertical integration in all segments of our business and we create a coherent chain – from technology research, through production, products and services till the end user.

Undoubtedly, the group has high requirements for the quality of the building and the competencies of partners, it was important for us that designers and other chains work with the most advanced tools and technologies, because the building is really complex in sense of engineering”, says Martynas Rusteika, “BOD GROUP” Communication Manager.

Construction Project was prepared by company “Baltic Engineers”, which will also supervise the process of Project implementation. “Baltic Engineers” has designed and managed the construction of “Continental” production plant in Kaunas, “Dovista” window production town, also has designed territory and engineering networks of the museum of modern art “Mo”.

“We like complex projects – here we can best realize the experience and skills of our team and create great value for the Clients. “BOD GROUP” paid special attention to the design stage of the building, precise preparation of Construction Project, which can be achieved only by working with 3D platforms. This is a prerequisite for the maximum elimination of errors during the construction itself. After all, design errors are very expensive during construction stage and can even irreparably damage the quality of the building, especially when the project is so complex”, says Darius Kvedaras, CEO of Baltic Engineers.

Building will supply itself with energy

Building of “BOD GROUP” Research and Laboratory Centre will supply itself with heat and cool – innovative system of geothermal wells and heat pumps will be able to cover the building’s needs.

“Major part of geothermal wells will be installed under the building, so the system will be extremely compact, not requiring an area of the land plot. Geothermal energy will ensure not only the heating of the building in the cold season, but also the basic cooling of the premises at warmer weather. Total of 16 ventilation systems with heat recovery have been designed for the ventilation of the building – this is important to ensure the necessary indoor climate in laboratories and research centres”, says D. Kvedaras.

The new-generation solar power plant, which will be installed on the roof and integrated into the building’s façade, will generate large part of the electricity needed for the building.

Construction of A ++ energy class, 5 floors, 33 thousand sq.m. area innovation, research and laboratory centre will start this month, the completion of the works is expected in the end of 2022.  About 200 jobs for high-tech professionals will be created in this technology complex.

Architectural Design and idea of the building were created by the company “Milimetras”, Architect Tomas Rasiulis, the Construction Manager – UAB “Keista”.
