The new AISV school wins the Best Public Building award

The American International School of Vilnius (AISV) was recognized as the best public building in Lithuania, the LNTPA “Sustainable Development” competition reports. UAB “Be Constructive”, member of “Be Live” group, was responsible for the building construction management and is currently certifying it according to the sustainability standard BREEAM .

“The school is in the forest, and the forest is in the school. Children spend most of the day here and still don’t want to go home,” at the award ceremony said Darius Gradzevičius, representative of The American International School of Vilnius.

“Modern education is unimaginable without an inspiring, sustainable environment for learning. I am glad that with joint efforts, we managed to solve the issues of how to harmonize the neighborhood of the Pavilniai Regional Park and the busy intersection. Pine trees wave from the windows of the AISV classrooms while the recently completed improvement of the infrastructure allows you to safely reach the school by all means, of course, on foot or by bicycle. AISV is being certified according to BREEAM international sustainability standards. I have no doubt that she deserves the highest sustainability ratings, so she will soon be able to be proud of them,” added Darius Kvedaras, CEO of the “Be Live” group.

He was happy that the new or fundamentally renewed schools, the number of which is approaching ten in the portfolio of “Be Live” group are among the most sustainable, inspiring, and engineering-perfect buildings today.

The contest “For Sustainable Development 2023” is being organized by the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association (LNTPA) and the Sustainable Development Academy for the 16th time. A competent commission of 10 members evaluated the projects participating in the competition: scientists, engineers, energy, construction specialists, economists, architects, urban planners, and media representatives.
